Surfshark
Food for Data

Surfshark partnered with Havas Street for a one-of-a-kind social experiment in New York City, taking over Coffee Project New York in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, on a busy weekday morning.
In this twist on a typical café visit, menu items came with custom “prices” — from an email address for a cup of coffee to a credit card security code for a pastry. Guests wrote their info on paper “currency,” which was shredded immediately to demonstrate how Surfshark doesn’t collect personal data.
QR codes at the shop invited guests to further explore Surfshark’s privacy mission. While the free treats were appreciated, many were struck by how quickly they handed over sensitive information — spotlighting the everyday risks of online data sharing.
